Exceptional and stylish Lucite and gilt metal vanity chair from Hill Manufacturing, circa 1960’s. 80cm x 44cm x 44cm, seat height 44cm (31 x 17 x 17 inches). Original manufacturers label to the underside of the seat.
 
With its curves to die for, beautiful proportions and exquisite materials, this piece is typical of American furniture makers Hill Manufacturing. Known for their high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, their furniture pieces were designed to be both stylish and functional, with designs being characterised by clean lines and elegant curves. 
 
The seat has been beautifully reupholstered in a high quality blue/green velvet (Linwood Omega 3 Caribbean), the rest of the chair is in completely original, unrestored condition.
 
Minor scratches and wear to the lucite and losses to the gilt on the castors as per age and use. On the edge of the backrest at upper right where there is a small and shallow chip. It's hard to spot, but enough that you can feel it with a finger tip if you move a hand along it. There is a scuff on the lower front left leg, just above the castor, that stands out more than any other, approx 3cm in length. Some smaller scratches to the front right, same position. A small scuff on the upper backrest, next to the hand hold.
