Beautifully and delicately executed, this charming panel features exotic birds among chrysanthemums. The pictorial elements are executed in a subtle and cohesive colour palette that allows the fresh, bright pistachio ground to really sing. The narrow giltwood surround is stylish but unobtrusive, the gold framing and highlighting the green without dominating.

Condition:
Overall excellent. Clean, bright and presenting beautifully. The frame shows minor signs of age, with some small loss of gilt and gesso at the corners and the odd mark, see images. A couple of minor imperfections to the painting, likely from manufacture rather than later damage.
