Huge. Gold. Lacquered. Hand Painted.
This '70's Chinese drinks cabinet is a very impressive, incredibly decorative piece. Covered on the front, sides, and top in gold leaf with hand painted decoration and beautifully painted faux Burr Maple base, back and trim.
At 120cm high, 117cm wide and 46cm deep it is a statuesque cabinet offering great storage. The front panel swings around on a central hinge to reveal a mirrored bar area. The sides open up and contain four shelves each and four slots for wine glasses. The doors are kept closed with traditional Chinese locking pins.
This is in good vintage condition. Solid and complete in structure, with signs of age and wear. Some losses to the lacquer around the edges and a strip of gold leaf missing to the top panel (around 10cm long and 1 to 1.5cm in width) The wooden substrate retains an impression of gold from where the leaf was here, making this quite well camouflaged. Please see images for details, lots more here that we can't get on to the listing.
